Brielle's Story
We found out about a Utah residential treatment facility at a time when we thought we were out of options. Our family was at a breaking point. Although we were surrounded by numerous healthcare professionals, our child was still spiraling out of control. As parents, you never give up hope. We truly felt that there had to be some place in the world that could help her. We worked with a placement counselor who visited facilities across all of the United States. She said there was only ONE option. One option in the entire United States! We were literally at the opposite corner of the U.S. from Utah, but we were so hopeful that this would help our daughter.
The residential treatment facility in Utah showed care, patience, and compassion from the start. They greeted us and our child warmly and continued that same care throughout the process. Not only did this time give our family a chance to reset and breathe but provided a much needed structured environment for our child to rehabilitate. Our child came to understand our concerns with her behavior, but she was also correctly diagnosed for the first time in her life. The combination of daily therapy, family sessions, and an amazing therapist, our daughter grew immensely. I think there is a major misconception that this can be done in a week or a month, but we can attest that you need months for these changes to take shape. With the benefit of having a transition plan, structure in place when our child came back home, and doctors/therapists that are appropriate for her diagnosis, our child is now thriving at school, has friends, and is motivated to get a great education to be successful in life. I can honestly say our daughter would not be where she is, and we, as a family, would not be where we are right now without the compassion, assistance, and guidance of the residential treatment facility. We will always highly recommend this Utah residential treatment facility to anyone who is in a similar situation. We are so grateful to them and blessed to now have a loving and functioning family with a daughter who will contribute to society.
